William Hayden Obituary

William Wayne Hayden, born February 20, 1962, ended his battle with pancreatic cancer Sunday, May 24th at his home in Nicholasville.  He was 58 years old. He was a long-time resident, prominent local business owner, and active community participant of Jessamine County for over 35 years. Throughout his many years he served our community in just about any way he could: as a coach for Jessamine County Youth Soccer Association, as a deacon in local churches, as a member of SBDM councils at local elementary schools, and as an avid supporter of both East and West athletic programs. He served our community as a member of the board for All God’s Children, Board of Adjustment, and was president of the Jessamine County Habitat for Humanity. He loved to serve others and was an active member of Southland Christian Church where he helped weekly with their traffic team, led a men’s Bible study, and simply picked up the phone to assist whenever a need arose. When he wasn’t working or serving others, he most enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, attending University of Kentucky football games, and watching Kentucky basketball.  He’ll be fondly remembered by his four adult children, Will, Emily, Abby, and Noah Hayden, and his partner of several years, Kristy Tullar. He is also survived by his parents Lynne McNeal, husband Charlie, and Bill Hayden, wife Linda, and four siblings, Andi McNeal, Bart Hayden, Tony Hayden and Nikki Pearl and their spouses.  He was a beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents Clyde and Flossie Hayden and Oscar and Cassie Sandstrom.  Flowers are welcome.  The family also asks for memorial donations to be made to either Habitat for Humanity of Jessamine County or All God’s Children as a way of continuing his legacy. Wayne’s family will receive friends from 2-8 PM Friday at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, with a Remembrance Service for his family on Saturday at 11:00 AM, which will be live-streamed on the funeral home’s Facebook page.  Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Cobb, John Richard, John Horne, Jewel Philpot, Mike Sloan, Dennis Pigg, Bill Dehlinger, Kelly Goble, Austin Tullar, and Bradley Tullar.  Please go to www.hagerandcundifffunerals.com to sign Wayne’s Guestbook and view a video tribute.  Hager & Cundiff values nothing more than the trust given to us by the Hayden Family to care for Wayne.
