William Rice Cobb, 71, son of the late Rice Leo and Pauline Cobb, left his earthly home on Dec. 18, 2020. He was born in Fayette County on July 17, 1949, but lived the majority of his life in Jessamine County. He was a former employee of Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company where he worked as a re-dryer. He loved Bluegrass Music, especially Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs, which he and his father used to listen every Sunday on the radio. William was a quiet man who kept to himself but he loved his family. He was preceded in death by brothers Lloyd R. and David Cobb and sister Rebecca Sue Cobb Masters. He will be fondly remembered by his sister Dianne Cobb, brother Daniel Cobb, wife Bonnie, and sister-in-law Betty Cobb, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. A Remembrance Service will be held at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home 1:00 Tuesday Dec. 22, with Brother Robert Rawlings officiating, and will be live-streamed on the Hager & Cundiff Facebook page and YouTube channel. If you are not able to attend William’s Service, call our office (859 885-4125) to request a white silk rose to be placed with your name to be given to the family following the service. William will be laid to rest in the Cobb Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Danny Cobb, Clay Cobb, Tony Royalty, Kevin Wells, Larry Welch, and Daniel Cobb. The family will greet friends on Tuesday beginning at 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM. As we observe COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing and face masks are required for all visitors to the funeral home. “If there ever comes a day we can’t be together, keep me in your heart. I'll stay there forever.” Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home values nothing more that the trust and loyalty given to us by the Cobb Family to care for William.
