Pamela "Pam" (Bays) Downing

Pamela Ann Downing, 58, loving wife of Douglas Todd Downing for 33 years, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 21, 2024.  She was a native of Barbourville, born Sept. 12, 1965 to Jimmie M, and Ann L. Patterson Bays. She was a member of the Nicholasville Christian Disciples of Christ Church.  Pam was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and was a former employee of Parisian Retail Store and opened the store in Cincinnati.  She loved to paint, draw, and collect Antique Dolls, and she was a member of the Little Colonel Doll Club. Her favorite out door activity was gardening. She enjoyed staying home with her son Chasen Hunt Downing until he began school and afterward resumed her working career at Asbury University as a social worker.  In addition to her parents, husband Todd and son Chasen, she will be greatly missed by her Mother and Father-in-law Linda and Doug Downing and many of her extended family and friends as well as her special pets Lily and Darby, who cared for her deeply and were very protective.  A Remembrance Service will be held on 7:30 PM Friday April 26 at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Mallory, Dr. Lon Oliver, and Mr. Robert Foley presiding. Pam's family will greet friends beginning at 2:00 PM Friday until time of service.  Serving as pallbearers are Tony Feltner, Randy Cole, Will Flynn, Michael Canessa, Shawn Canessa, and Scott Bays.  Honorary pallbearers are Beth Burch, Ann Downing Wells, and the members of the Little Colonel Doll Club. Pam will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery during a Private Graveside Service on Saturday.  “Please try not to be sad for me. Try to understand. God is taking care of me… I’m in the shelter of His hands."  Hager & Cundiff values the trust given to us to care for Pam’s arrangements.
