Marvin Graham Obituary

Marvin Graham, 74, devoted father and grandfather, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, April 15, 2023.  He was born on August 24, 1948 in Garrard County, Kentucky, the only child of the late Clarence and Leila Rose “Midge” Teater Graham.  Marvin grew up in Nicholasville from the time he was about 6 years old, where he attended Nicholasville Elementary School and graduated from Jessamine County High School, having played football and run track during his high school years.  Marvin graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Electrical Engineering and was an avid UK Wildcat fan. After an early retirement from Kentucky Utilities, Marvin then worked at and retired from Inter County Energy in Danville.  He had lived in Danville for about 18 years and was a faithful member of First Christian Church in Danville.   A few of Marvin’s favorite pastimes were fishing, shooting, eating out with friends and watching his grandchildren compete in sports. Marvin leaves precious memories with his sons Nathan “Nate” Graham, wife Mindy, and Evan Graham, as well as his grandchildren Owen, Kyle, Landon, and Piper Graham.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Nyla Wright.  A Funeral Remembrance Service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, following which Marvin will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Ronald Quinn, Mike Hale, Bobby Bourne, Seth Slone, Kyle Graham, and Landon Graham.  Honorary pallbearers are Owen Graham, Charles Miller and John Davis.  Marvin’s family will greet friends Wednesday beginning at 5:00 PM and ending at 9:00 PM at the funeral home.  The family suggests expressions of sympathy be made to First Christian Church of Danville, 555 E. Lexington Ave., Danville, KY 40422 or to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass1300 Sports Center Drive, Lexington, KY 40502 in Marvin's memory.  “If there ever comes a day where we can’t be together, keep me in your heart.  I’ll stay there forever.”  Hager & Cundiff values nothing more than the loyalty and trust given to us to care for Marvin and the Graham Family.
