Margaret Woodward Obituary

Margaret Woodward, 95, widow of Everett since 2011, joined the love of her life on Sept 27,2021. She was born in Garrard County to the late Martin and Fannie Carter Shearer on March 20, 1926, one of their 4 children.  She was a former secretary of J. S. Williams MD of Nicholasville, and she worked at Kentucky Adhesive and the RSVP Program for the Senior Citizens in Nicholasville. Margaret loved people and had an interest of the history of Jessamine County and was eager to relate her knowledge to her visitors and family. She will be fondly remembered by her children Barbara Watts Brown, husband Michael, Wanda “Wendy” Huey, Linda Wells, husband Pat, Gordon Woodward, Rita Ruth, husband Larry, sister Hope Fain, as well as  grandchildren Darren Watts, Mauri Berry, Jan Jones, Leah Wright, Cari Waller, Adam Woodward, step grandchildren Todd Wells, Allison Bell, and Rich Huey, 14 great grandchildren and many other extended family members.  She was preceded in death by brothers Norton Shearer and Martin Shearer and grandson Brent Watts.  A Service of Remembrance will be conducted by Dylan Watts at 11:30 PM on Friday Oct 1, 2021 at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home.  She will be laid to rest with her husband in Camp Nelson National Cemetery at 12:30 PM. Serving as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Burge and great grandsons Trey Smith, Luke Berry, Grant Jones, Cole Watts, Brayden Woodward, Joshua Watts, Dylan Watts, and Jonathon Wright.  The family will greet friends on Thursday Sept. 30, beginning at 4:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM at the funeral home.  The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Roberts Chapel Methodist Church, 5087 Danville Road, Nicholasville, KY 40356 in Margaret's memory. “If ever comes a time we can’t be together keep me in you heart and I will be there forever.” Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home values nothing more than the trust and loyalty given to us by the Woodward family to care for Margaret.
