Margaret Louise Curtsinger, 72, widow of Robert A Curtsinger since 2012, joined him in eternal rest on Monday, August 23, 2021 while at St. Joseph Hospice Care. Margaret was the daughter of James Edward and Dora RhorerThomas, born Jan. 31, 1949, in Lexington, KY. She was a member of the Wilmore United Methodist Church and a retired teacher of the Jessamine County Board of Education. She obtained her college degree as a single parent raising 3 children and was a pioneer in bringing a special needs program to Jessamine County Schools, having begun her career as a kindergarten teacher at Hattie Warner Elementary. Margaret was a Breast Cancer Survivor and was described as the most wonderful mom, grandmother, and great grandmother that loved everybody and never met a stranger. She will be fondly remembered by her children James Beckett, wife Tonya, Kathy Beckett West, and Kimberly Beckett Kelsey, husband Jesse, as well as her step-children Carla Huff, Robert Allen Curtsinger, wife Tonya, and Candice Napier, together which was affectionally known as the Curtsinger bunch! A sister Angie Thomas Simpson, an aunt Eva Jane Jacobs, along with 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren will also treasure their memories of Margaret. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Wilkinson, and Larry Beckett, the father of her children. A Remembrance Service will be held Friday, Aug 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, following which she will be laid to rest beside her husband in Wilmore Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Thursday August, 26, at the funeral home beginning at 4:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM. “Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, she was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.” Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home values nothing more than the trust and loyalty given to us by the Curtsinger family to care for their loved one.
