Katieann Griffin Obituary

Please see Harrod Brothers Funeral Home's website (Frankfort, KY) for further details.

Katieann Dawn Griffin, age 31 of Lexington KY, passed away on Thursday, August 19th, 2021.  She was born to Linda Gail Griffin of Warsaw KY and the late Cary Scott Williams of Burlington KY on September 27th, 1989.

Katieann better known as Katie attended Burlington Elementary, Conner Middle School, and Connor High School. Katie was very active as a child in cheer and basketball but mostly enjoyed spending time with her siblings and cousin’s outdoors.

Our Dear Kate; Kate was witty, caring, kind, curious, loving, and inspirational.  Family and friends were Katie’s passion. Katie had a smile that could light up a room and a laugh that was contagious. Katie was a “small town girl” with big city dreams. If Katie could dream it, she could do it. Many friends and family members depended on Katie to quiet the storm after the rain because she was known for giving the best advice “do as I say not as I do” – Kate.

If ever there was a person that could make another laugh merely to see the joy of another, it was Katie. Katie had a special presence about her; people wanted to engage with her, get to know her, spend time with her, and love her. Katie effortlessly could leave a lasting impression and was confident in her style, manners, and character.

Although Katie was called away from us on Thursday, August 19th, 2021 she will live on through her beautiful children from youngest to oldest Ireland, Tucker, McKaid, and McKenzie.

Katie came from a large family she was the fourth of eight children: Chastity Lynn Griffin of Lexington KY, Douglas Raye Griffin of Nicholasville KY, Jessica Cari Griffin of Nicholasville KY, Samantha Williams of Newport KY, Deanna Lea Hale of San Diego California, Christian Miller of Nicholasville KY, and Morgan Gail Miller of Nicholasville KY. Katie is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she adored and cared for.

Katie faced many trials and tribulations in her life but never let anyone go unloved. She had a way of reassuring family, friends, and even strangers that their existence was important, they mattered, and were loved.

As many will tell you Katie left our world way too soon. She had goals to meet and dreams to fill.

This obituary was lovingly submitted by Katie's family.  Hager & Cundiff values nothing more than the trust placed in us to care for the Griffin Family.
