Janice Fain Obituary

Janice M. Fain entered into eternal rest on Saturday April 1, 2023, at the age of 90. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Robert M. Fain. Other survivors include her children, Robert L. Fain (Kathy), Roger Fain (Suzanne), and Diana Fain. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ben Fain of Houston TX, Nate Fain (Lauren) of Pensacola FL, and Robin Hopkins (Jeremy) of Waynesboro VA, as well as her great-grandchildren Davis, Dawson, and Sadie Fain. In addition, she is survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as other extended family members. The family also wishes to honor April Fletcher, who served Janice in many ways over the past few years. Janice was born in Norfolk, Virginia, where her father was serving in the navy, and was the only child of John and Amanda Terrell Meeks. She was a homemaker while her children were growing up, and later worked at the Jessamine County Public Library, as a teacher’s aide at Warner Elementary, and at Lazarus department store. Janice liked watching sports, especially UK football, the Chicago Cubs, and golf, and keeping up with the Corbin Redhounds. She was also a cat lover and had many special cats over the years, including the one still at home named Jody Meeks. The funeral will be held at Hager & Cundiff on Friday April 7, at 11:00 AM, followed by burial in the House family cemetery.  Her family will greet friends on Thursday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home and from 10:00 AM on Friday until the time of the service. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Ben Fain, Nathan Fain, Chris Campbell, Gary Hager, Jared Hager, and Brett Least. Honorary bearers will be April Fletcher and Steve and Sandy Martin. The family suggests donations be made in her memory to the Jessamine County Humane Society or the Pleasant View Methodist Church, 97 West Church St., Williamsburg, KY 40769. Hager & Cundiff values nothing more than the trust and loyalty given to us to care for Janice and the Fain family.
