Eva Jane (Thomas) Jacobs

Eva Jane Jacobs, 93, widow of John, joined him in eternal rest Monday, March 27.  She was a native of Scott County but had lived in Jessamine County since 1931. Eva Jane was born April 16,1929, to the late Hugh Sanders Thomas and Lorena Grace Moore Thomas, being one of their six children.  She retired from the Jessamine County Health Department in 1991, where she worked as a nurse as well as in administration. She was a dedicated member of the Wilmore Presbyterian Church for many years.  Eva Jane was a member of the Wilmore Lioness Club, Jessamine County Homemakers, and the Central Kentucky Computer Society.  She leaves precious memories with her son Claude “Jake” Jacobs, wife Sheila, grandchildren Jason Jacobs, wife Kim, Kathy Gregory, husband Joey, Hannah E. Jacobs, Eddie Price, wife Heather, and John Lewis Price, wife Kristen, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and  extended family members.  Her pleasant personality and smile will be remembered by her many friends and church family members.  She was preceded in death by a daughter Elizabeth G. Price, sisters Mary Louise Alcorn and Angie Beall, brothers Hugh M. Thomas, Alfred M. Thomas and James E. Thomas. A Funeral Remembrance will be held Tuesday April 4, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Chaplain Sylvia Baker-Noren officiating.  Following the service she will be laid to rest beside her husband in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends beginning at 4:00 PM on Monday and ending at 8 :00 PM at the funeral home. “A little consideration, a little thought for others makes all the difference.”  Hager  Cundiff Funeral Home and Cremation values the trust and loyalty given to us by the Jacobs family to care for Eva’s arrangements.
