Delmer Mack Obituary

The Mack family has lost a member of their family who had a personality as big as his heart and always lit up a room when he entered, full of laughter and smiles.  Delmer Lee Mack, 70, was a native of Lexington, Ky born Nov. 22, 1949, to the late Elijah H. Mack and Sarah Ann McDowell.  He was a US Army Veteran having served in Vietnam and a former nurses’ assistant for the VA Hospital.  He has been a resident of Thomson Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, KY for the last 5 years where he was affectionately known as "Mack”.  He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter Toya R. Mack, granddaughter Elianna J. Moore, brothers and sisters Bernice Bright, Marianne Mitchell, Len Mitchell, Chris Brooker, J. C. Cole, Paulette Cole and Patricia Cole, step sister Bernice Bright, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members and his special friend Stanley Holt. He was preceded in death by his step mother Mary Bell Mack, cousin Mary Liz Carter, sister Inez Shumpert, step sister Anna Bell Berry, and step brother Louis  Newby.  His family will greet friends on Friday, Dec. 27 beginning at 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home.  He will be laid to rest at Camp Nelson Cemetery at 2:30 PM Friday Dec. 27 with a Remembrance Service including Military Honors.  Honoring him as pallbearers will be Len Mitchell, Robert Bright, Sr., Lance Newby,  Paul Carter, Jr., Lamar Carter, LaRon Bright, and Dywan Bright. Hager & Cundiff values nothing more than the trust given to us by the Mack family.
