Charles "Bubba" Brumfield Obituary

Charles “Bubba” Brumfield, 55, loving husband of Mitzi for the last 32 years, entered into eternal rest unexpectedly at his home.  He was a life-long resident of Jessamine County, born Dec. 4, 1965, to Charles Woodrow and Brenda Sue Williams Brumfield.  Bubba was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church and a retired Chief of the Nicholasville Fire Department, having served in that role from 2003 to 2014. He loved to fish, travel, and ride his Harley motorcycle, which he gave up for fishing.  From the time he was a small child, he was interested in aviation and built many model airplanes.   In addition to his parents and wife, he will be fondly remembered by his children Jacob Tyler Brumfield, wife Ashley, Kelli Michelle Brumfield, and Ryan Michael Brumfield, fiancée, Serena, his brother Timothy “Tim” Allen Brumfield, wife Dedra, as well as niece Meagan Elizabeth Brumfield.  Bubba will be missed by his many friends and coworkers at the Fire Department, but most of all by his fur baby daughter Sophie, who mourns the loss of his presence at their home.

A Remembrance Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday Aug. 5 at  Lighthouse Baptist Church, 105 Shun Pike.  Bubba will be laid to rest following the service in Maple Grove Cemetery. Honoring him as pallbearers will  be Jeff Juett, David Cartwright, Bob Carpenter, Rick Shropshire, David Deering, Mark Stewart, Joe Brock, and Johnny Adams. His special friends will be Honorary bearers: Tim Engler, Bob Carpenter, Chuck Estes, Clay Tankersley, and Roger Hart.   His family will greet friends at the Church on Wednesday, Aug. 4, beginning at 2:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM, as well as before his service on Thursday beginning at 9:00 AM.  “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7)  Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home values nothing more than the friendship and trust given to us by the Brumfield family to care for Bubba.
