Bonnie Carpenter Obituary

Bonnie Joe Carpenter, 53, loving wife of Bob Carpenter, entered into the comforting arms of her Lord on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born March 24, 1966, in LaGrange, KY being one of five children.  Bonnie was a devoted member of Friends in Christ Community Church where she was involved in all aspects of church life, especially Children’s Church.  Her love for children was spread throughout her life as she was a volunteer for the Jessamine County Youth Sports Concessions.  Chili was her specialty, so it was nothing to have people return year after year just to get a hot dog with her chili. Children were such a major part of her life that she drove a school bus for 13 years for the Jessamine County School Board.  Family was a precious part of Bonnie’s life, and taking care of all of them spilled over to her mini farm where she enjoyed caring for her goats, chickens, cats and dog.  Bonnie was a true caregiver to all who surrounded her.  In addition to her husband Bob, her memory will be cherished by her father William Horstman, wife Sandra, mother Phyllis Jackson, husband Bill, her loving children Donald Carpenter, wife Pamela, Johnny Carpenter, wife Raven, and Rachel Carpenter and friend Dylan George, and the light of her life-grandchildren Brooklyn McAlister,, Riley Carpenter, and twins Ava and Amelia, who will be arriving soon.  Her brothers and sisters  Charlie Horstman, wife Tori, Debbie Horstman, Janice Jaggers, William “Bill” Jackson, Jr. wife Debi and step sister Linda Proctor, husband Doug will think back often of their childhood memories with Bonnie.  Her nieces and nephews as well as many extended family members and friends will miss her kindness that she so willingly extended.  A Remembrance Service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 18, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery.  Honoring her as pallbearers will be Donald Carpenter, Johnny Carpenter, Bubba Brumfield, Tim Brumfield, Tim Paige, Jonathan McGrann, David Horstman, and Rich Conaway.  Bonnie's family will greet friends beginning at 4:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM on Monday, June 17, at the funeral home.  They have suggested donations be made to Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home to help with expenses due to the tremendous financial burden that has been placed on them in the last few years.  This can be done by donating through the funeral home website or at their office at 207 West Oak St. Nicholasville.  Bonnie had an impact on many.  Her fingerprints can’t be wiped away from the little marks of kindness she has left behind.  It is a privilege for Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home to care for Bonnie and her family.
