Betsy (Turner) Moore

Betsy Turner Moore of Lexington, Ky, widow to the late Edward L Moore Sr joined her husband and her Heavenly Father in eternity on Monday August 29th.

Betsy is preceded in death by her husband Edward L Moore Sr, parents Richard Turner and Anna F Prewitt Turner, a bother David L Turner, two unborn grandchildren, and numerous aunts & uncles.

Betsy leaves behind three children, Edward L Moore Jr (wife Teri), Levi D Moore (wife Rene’) and Rebecca L Ogden (husband Preston), four grandchildren, Michael Moore, Nicholas Moore, Denae Moore, and Trevor Ogden, as well as two step grandchildren, Garrett Ogden (fiancé Haley) & Kristen Ogden (wife Kelsey), and a step great grandson Gatlin Ogden.  She leaves precious childhood memories with her sisters Janet Dennis and Patricia Stephenson and her brother Rick Turner.

Betsy was born in Lancaster, Ky and spent a great deal of her childhood with her grandparents and cousins on Back Creek. She met and married the love of her life in Chicago, IL and they later settled in the Beckley, WV area where they lived until 2016 when they moved back to the land of her roots in Lexington, Ky where she was loved and cared for by many at Cambridge Place. Though she wasn’t perfect, Betsy was a dedicated wife and mother and a light for Jesus, wanting nothing more than for her family to be together in Heaven one day! Lover of all things pretty, and purple, she enjoyed animals, the outdoors, and sweets!!

Funeral Services will be held at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home in Nicholasville, Ky at 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 1, and the family will greet friends beginning at 3:00 PM up until time of service.  A graveside service will follow on Friday, September 2, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley, WV at 2:00 PM. Friends & family are welcome to attend either or both services. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your local animal rescue.
