Ann Erickson Obituary

Ann Alcorn Erickson, loving wife of Harry Gene Erickson, left her earthly home on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2020, while in St. Joseph Hospice Care Unit. She was a native of Highbridge, KY and the daughter of the late Clarence and Rachel Welsh Alcorn.  Ann was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church, a retired nurse at Thomson Hood Veterans Center, and long time nurse for the late Phyllis Corbitt M.D. in Wilmore.  She loved yard sales and was a dedicated grandmother to her grandson Jason Lee Tate even throughout his college years.  She was also showered her love and attention  to Freezy her Maltese dog.  She will be fondly remembered by not only her grandson but her son Leroy Tate, great grandchildren Addison Lee and Regan Marie Tate, sister Juanita Wilson and nephews Mark and Matt Wilson as well as many friends and other family members.  A Remembrance Service will be held on Wednesday, May 13, with only the 10 closest family members in attendance due to COVID 19 restrictions.  Should you like to attend and cannot due to the restrictions, please call Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home and we will place a white silk rose with your name on it to occupy a chair. The roses will be given to the family at the conclusion of the service.  Ann will be laid to rest on Thursday, May 14, in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.  Honorary pallbearers will be Leroy Tate, Jason Tate, Billy Wayne Poor, Mark and Matt Wilson, and Jason Hurst. NURSE describes Ann “ N is for notable, and willing to share; U is for understanding, she really cares; R is for reliable, right from the start; S is for sincere, with a loving heart; E is for energetic , so much to behold; she is more precious than gold".  Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home values nothing more than the trust given to us to care for Ann by her family.
