Roy W. King, 76, of Lancaster, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 22, 2013, at his home. Roy was the loving husband of Barbara Ann King, a native of Lexington he was the son of the late Charles Luther and Sarah Elizabeth King. He worked for many years as an independent insurance agent, having a Masters Degree from EKU he also had been a professor at EKU and Cumberland College. Roy wore many hats so to speak because he enjoyed not only working different jobs, such as his employment at Dixie Cup but he also had many hobbies over the years. He loved playing golf, boating, even though he could not swim, buying old cars restoring and then selling them, he also acquired pacers for harness racing, but his favorite activity was his trips with Barbara to Florida where they would spend about six months every year. In addition to Barbara he leaves to cherish his memory daughters Robin Prager, husband Matthew, Lori Schuchter, granddaughter Adrianna Marie Prager whom he adored, sisters Anna Ray, Sue Taylor, Sandy Tirey, brother William A King, special niece and nephew Valda May and Albert McVey, Jr. as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Roy chose Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home for cremation arrangements. His family will have a private ceremony at the Florence Cemetery.
