Rev. Gerald Thomas Atkins, Jr. 46, of Witchita Dr. died Thursday Oct. 8, at St. Joseph Hospice Care Center. A native of Newburn, North Carolina he was born July 19, 1963, to the late Gerald Sr. and Lucille Atkins. He was a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity and an ordained minister for the Church of God. He leaves behind his wife Jeanie ‘Sweetie’ Atkins, 2 step sons David Bell, wife Lisa and Owen Bell wife Devon, a daughter in law Jessie Bell, a sister Johnnie Owens, 2 sisters in law Betty Barnes, husband Leo and Paula Ramirez husband John, a brother in law Allen Padgett, wife Misty, and 3 grandchildren MaKayla, Leah, and Gwenna Bell.

Memorial Services will be held Monday, Oct. 12, at 6:00 PM at the Nicholasville Church of God, Old Wilmore Rd. with the Rev. Jim Marshall officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 4:00 PM until time of service
