Mary Jane East, 89, widow of Charles C. “Sid” East since 2020, joined him in eternal rest at the home they shared together on Friday October 10, 2025. She was the daughter of Charles W. and Mary Louise Crowe Walton, having been one of their three children. She was born September 23, 1936, in Lexington and graduated from Henry Clay High School. She was a member of the Nicholasville Christian Church and the Circle 6 at the Church. She also enjoyed being a member of the Good Friends Homemaker Group. She and her husband enjoyed the travels they made with the Beef Cattle Association and the many family get-togethers. She and her friends Joann Wilson, and Rena Drakeford loved the time they spent going to yard sales in Lexington. Sewing and planning get-togethers earned her the title “Domestic Goddess” as she was a very adept homemaker. Her children Randy, wife Patty, brought into her life a granddaughter Maranda; and Sidney Coleman, husband Byron, brought into her life grandsons Troy Coleman, wife Kim, and Chase Coleman, wife Brittany, and they provided her with great grandchildren Evelyn, Beckham, Hunter and Everett. She will leave her childhood memories with sister Sue Tuney. She will be welcomed in her eternal life by her parents, husband and sister Betty Taylor. A Remembrance Service will be held Friday, October 17, 2025 at 1:30 PM at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with burial to follow in Camp Nelson Cemetery, where she will be placed with her husband. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Chase and Troy Coleman, Richard Collins, Mitch Houp, Larry Garrett, Don Gabbard, and Bobby Collins. Honorary bearers will be her caregivers for the past 4 years, Donna Collins, Tammy Horton, Howard and Doug Downing, Lee Dale Stinnett, Leslie (Les) Hurt, and Billy Wayne Poor. The family will greet friends on Thursday beginning at 5 PM and ending at 8 PM at the funeral home. “You will never forget the soft sound of your mother's voice or her touch, her stories, or the things she stood for; they are her gift and your legacy.”

Mary Jane’s arrangements were made under the direction of Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home and we express our deepest sympathy to the East family and friends.
