Helyn Laybourn Johnson

Helyn Laybourn Johnson, 97, widow of Zachary T. Johnson, Jr. since 1997, joined him Saturday, June 10, 2017, in eternal rest. She was a native of Iowa born Aug. 21, 1919, to the late George A. and Jennie Larson Laybourn. She served as a secretary for Asbury Seminary until her retirement. Helyn was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Wilmore Woman’s Club. A loving mother to Patricia Ann Arthur, husband John, Zach Johnson III, wife Jane, Cheryl Johnson, and Diana Clark, grandmother of 8 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Randy Johnson, daughter-in-law Gwen Root, grandson Jason Johnson and a sister Mavis Wiseman. “You will find no better best friend than your Mother, she knows you more than anyone does”.
