The matriarch of the Hill Family, Geneva Peel Hill, 103, joined her beloved husband Russell Hill in eternal rest on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Wesley Village in Wilmore. Geneva was a native of Jessamine County, born September 24, 1922 to the late Calvin and Eliza Wade Peel. She was a retired cafeteria cook for the Board of Education in Adams, Ohio, where she lived for fifty years. In 1999, Geneva moved back to Jessamine County, where she lived for the last 27 years. She was a member of the Little Hickman Christian Church, and she loved quilting and vegetable-gardening. She leaves to cherish her memory her son Harold Hill and her daughter Wanda Tingley, husband Ron; her four grandchildren Ashley Hill, Stephen Hill, Tara McCloud, and Tyler Tingley; and 8 great-grandchildren. She will be met at the heavenly gates by her sisters Ruth Lowry and Betty Jane Burton.
A Graveside Service will be held next week in Maple Grove Cemetery, with the day and time to be announced. Honoring Geneva as pallbearers will be Jimmy Bowman, Wayne Brooks, Billy Teater, Ashley Hill, Stephen Hill, Tyler Tingley, and William McCloud. The family requests donations be made to Little Hickman Christian Church in Geneva’s memory. “Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories.” Arrangements have been entrusted to Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, and we extend our deepest sympathy to the Hill Family.
