Freddie Cornett, Jr.

Freddie Cornett Jr, age 54, entered eternal life on Saturday August 1st, 2026. Freddie lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to his family, and an unwavering love for the outdoors. Freddie was married for 19 years to his wife Amy Suzanne, who loved him unconditionally. His legacy continues through his three sons: Carter Rabon Cornett, Troy Waylon Cornett, and Zachary Felix Cornett. In addition to his wife and sons, Freddie is survived by two brothers: Billy (wife, Kirsten) Asher-Cornett and Sam Cornett; two sisters: Samantha Asher-Cornett and Teresa Cornett (Bill Deaton); two nephews: Gavin Martin and Dawson Cornett; and six nieces: Lillie Martin, Kara Dunigan, Blakely Cornett, Paige Deaton, Layla Hoskins, and LillyKate Hoskins, along with a host of family and family. Freddie was preceded in death by his parents Freddie Cornett and Marlene Morris Cornett, sister Melissa Gail Asher, nephew Zane Lewis, and father-in-law Willie Martin (with whom he shared a close and meaningful bond). As the proud owner of Cornett Mechanical Heating and Air Conditioning, Freddie was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to the profession. He was most proud mentoring his son Carter to follow in his footsteps. He took great pride in building a reputable business through determination, skill, and honesty. Beyond his professional life, Freddie was an avid outdoorsman. He was happiest when hunting and fishing with his son Troy. When he wasn’t enjoying the outdoors, Freddie was passionately cheering on Kentucky Wildcat basketball. Freddie’s memory will forever be cherished by his mother-in-law Veletta Martin, brother and sister-in-law Willis (wife, Ashley) Martin, and very special cousin Lorrie Cornett. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation Saturday, August 15th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Hager and Cundiff Funeral Home in Nicholasville, Kentucky. A memorial service celebrating Freddie’s life will begin at 3:30 PM. Graveside services will follow on Sunday, August 16th at 2:00 PM at the American Legion Post 152 in Whitesburg, Kentucky. A procession to honor Freddie’s life, legacy, and to lay him at rest will begin at approximately 1:30 PM from Letcher Funeral Home in Whitesburg. Both the memorial and graveside services will be conducted by Pastor Joseph Banks Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Carter Cornett, Troy Cornett, Zachary Cornett, Willis Martin, Gavin Martin, David Wiley, Cole Wiley, Donnie Begley, and Mike Hale. "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
