Charles L. Powell, Sr. 75, formerly of Beechmont Dr. died Sunday, Nov. 27, at the Veterans Administration Hospital on Cooper Drive. A native of Jessamine County he was the son of the late Louis and Mina Wylie Powell. Charles was a veteran of the US Army. Survivors include his children Charles L. ‘Bud’ Powell, Jr., and Jennifer, Joannie Powell-Rhodus, husband Jack, and Deborah Newton, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, brothers Bobby Powell, wife Brenda, and Steven Wylie Ison, a niece and nephew.
A service honoring his memory will be held 1:30 PM Thursday, Dec. 1, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, with inurnment at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:30 PM until time for Service. Guestbook www.hagerandcundifffunerals.com
