Cecil Ray Cooper, affectionally known as “RayRay,” 79, devoted husband of Linda Morgan Cooper for 59 years, joined his parents Cecil Holloway and Lillian Pritchett Cooper and brother Robert in eternal rest. He was born Jan. 27, 1946, in Nicholasville, Kentucky. He was a retired employee of Trane where he worked in the stockroom. Cecil loved working for private ambulance services in the Lexington area and was an EMT instructor for many years. He also enjoyed camping with his family.

In addition to his wife Linda, he leaves many memories with his daughter Jenell Lynn Clem and his chosen daughters Carole Morgan Hesson, husband Jeff, and Gena Machale Carrington, who brought into his life grandchildren Mickey Ray Stone-Bowman, wife Madison, Danielle Lynn Davis, husband Josh, Samantha Noel Hall, fiancé Colt, Ashley Carole Hesson, fiancé Zack, Adam Charles Carrington, fiancée Jenn, and Clay Redmon Carrington, as well as 10 great grandchildren,

His brother Phillip Cooper, wife Dianna, sister Julie Wells, husband Chris, and sister-in-law Barbara Cooper will forever treasure their childhood memories.

A Remembrance Service will be held 10:00 AM on Friday September 26 at Hager Cundiff Funeral Home. The family will greet friends On Thursday Sept. 25, beginning at 5:00 PM and ending at 8:00 at the Funeral Home. Following the Service he will be laid to rest in Lexington Cemetery. His family and friends will Honor him as pallbearers: Phillip Cooper, Mickey Stone-Bowman, Jayden Davis, Josh Davis, Jeremiah Bradberry, and Zack King.

“If there comes a day where we can’t be together, keep me in your heart. I’ll stay there forever.”
