Bill Carter, 65, husband of Mary Long Carter entered into eternal rest at the Ephriam McDowell Hospital on Wednesday, Oct 23. He was a native of Jessamine County born July 23, 1948 to the late William S. and Ida Mae Moody Carter. He was a farmer and auctioneer having owned Crossroad Auction Center for 16 years, and had been a former employee of Sears, Southern States, and TruCheck. He loved fishing, talking with friends, good food, and vacations in Florida. He leaves to cherish his memory daughters Elizabeth "Liz" Maracin, husband Mark, Tammey Woody, husband Alvin, Jr., and Billie June "Junie" Carter, grandchildren Will and Cherish Huff, Rachel and Matthew Woody, and great grandchildren Zachary and Kate Adams. A Service of Remembrance will be held 1:00 PM Friday Oct. 25, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, he will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Jeff Moberly, Billy Oaks, Wayne Davis, Mark Ballard, Dale Hamner, and Jackie Waldrop. Honorary bearers will be Dickey Fain, Leedale Stinnett, and Tommy Welch.
