Nicholasville: Benjamin ‘Bennie’ F. Sims, 82, died Sat. Sept 17, at the St. Joseph Hospice Care Center. A Boyle County native and son of the late Jesse and Necia Adams Sims. He was formerly a resident of Somerset where he enjoyed fishing on Lake Cumberland with his late wife Nellie. He was a retired employee of Kirk and Blum and a veteran of the US Navy. He is survived by 2 children Benjamin F. Sims, Jr. wife Lois, and Anita Gayle Miley both of Lexington, a step daughter Belinda Wash, husband David, 6 grandchildren, sisters JoAnn Tebbs, Ruby Bodner, and Bernice Merrick and brother David Sims. Graveside Services will be held 1: 30 PM on Friday, Sept. 23, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home was honored to provide arrangements for the family.
