Margaret Bishop Obituary

The loving mother of Janet Bishop Houston and grandmother of Tyler Emily Houston, Margaret Witt Bishop joined her husband Frank Bishop in eternal rest on Wednesday, April 25, surrounded by family and friends.  Margaret was a member of Nicholasville United Methodist Church, former employee of Wilson Insurance & Real Estate Agency and Rector-Hayden Real Estate Agency, and an active member of our community for many years.  Margaret was born June 1, 1939, the youngest child of 6, to the late Sanford and Hallie Sowers Witt. She loved working in her yard, cooking and baking, but her true passion was looking after her granddaughter Tyler.  She also loved animals, especially her grand-dog Lexi, a golden retriever who recently crossed over the Rainbow Bridge and is waiting for her with her wagging tail and happy barking.  Her cats were also very dear, and she recently rescued a kitten on US 68 and named her Millie Rose, who delighted her in these last few months. She leaves her memory and love with Michael Scott Dunaway, who has shared a life with Janet for the past 8 years, a step son Frank Bishop, Jr., wife Linda, sister Edith Renfro, brothers Kenneth Witt, Wallace Witt, wife Mary Ruth, and Donald Witt, wife Becky, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister Anita Curry.  In accordance with her wishes, cremation has been arranged. She will be laid to rest by her loving husband Frank at a private family inurnment service at a later date.  “You will never forget your mother’s face, sound of her voice, her gentle touch, they let you know you were loved and you are her legacy”.
