He was a graduate of Tates Creek High School and Sullivan College. He leaves to cherish his memories with his constant companion of nine years Tevis Beaty, his dog Roxie, maternal aunts Judy Fields Betty "BJ" Bachtell, Delice Truman and Norma Hall, maternal uncles Peter "Rick" Bolen and Edmon Bolen, paternal aunt Rosemary Shuck, a special cousin Roy Wayne Lancaster, as well as a host of additional cousins and extended family members.
