James "J.T." Dunn Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James T. Dunn (J.T.), aged 87, of Nicholasville, KY. He peacefully departed this life on March 11th, 2024.

J.T. is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 64 years, Dean Dunn, his cherished daughter Cheri Gaudinier, devoted grandson Allen (Caitlin) Gaudinier, and his adored great-granddaughter Isla Gaudinier. He was a pillar of strength and love to his family, and his memory will forever be etched in their hearts.  He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Mattie Carter Dunn, his sisters Margaret Hager and Edna Long, and his brothers Vernon Dunn and Fred Dunn.

A devout member of the North Lexington Church of Christ, J.T. previously served faithfully as a deacon, exemplifying kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith to all who knew him. His commitment to his church community was a testament to his deep-rooted spirituality and dedication to serving others. He was a retiree of Proctor and Gamble.

Beyond his religious endeavors, J.T. had a passion for classic cars, particularly his beloved 1939 Chevrolet. A true aficionado, he could often be found at car shows, sharing stories and admiring the timeless craftsmanship of vintage automobiles. His love for classic cars was matched only by his admiration for the legendary James Dean, whose iconic presence inspired him throughout his life.

In every aspect of his life, J.T. exuded warmth, integrity, and generosity. His gentle spirit and genuine smile touched the lives of countless individuals, leaving an indelible mark on the world around him. Though he may have left this earthly realm, his legacy of love and compassion will continue to shine brightly through the memories he created and the lives he touched.

A celebration of J.T.'s life will be held at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Monday (3/18/2024), where friends and family will come together to honor his remarkable journey and bid farewell to a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Visitation hours will be held at the funeral home Monday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM with funeral services to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to North Lexington Church of Christ in honor of J.T's memory.
